About Luria Bertani Agar Miller Himedia

Luria Bertani Agar, Miller by HiMedia is a nutrient-rich solid culture medium used for the cultivation and maintenance of recombinant strains of Escherichia coli and for routine cultivation of not particularly fastidious microorganisms. It is widely used in microbiology, molecular biology, genetic engineering and research laboratories.

The medium contains casein enzymic hydrolysate, yeast extract, sodium chloride and agar. Casein enzymic hydrolysate provides peptides and peptones, yeast extract supplies essential vitamins and growth factors, sodium chloride maintains osmotic balance, and agar acts as the solidifying agent.

Luria Bertani Agar, Miller is suitable for bacterial cultivation, maintenance of recombinant strains, genetic and molecular biology studies, colony growth and laboratory research applications. The medium has a final pH of 7.5 0.2 at 25C.
